What You Will Do
Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of controls systems used on jet turbines, reciprocating compressors, power generation, dehydration, gas measurement and gas quality.
Provide accurate and detailed documentation of all work performed, i.e. red line drawings, complete logbooks, electronic maintenance system records updating and other paperwork as the need arises.
Collaborate with Maintenance Engineering and Operations departments to assist in quickly solving technical problems in the field.
Accurately calibrating existing equipment as well as troubleshooting and repairing of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and controls.
Programming and troubleshooting of various PLC/HMI/DCS software packages.
Remain current with changing technology.
Ensure satellite/radio/cell communication is maintained at all sites.
Who You Are
You will have the following:
Technologist diploma (Instrumentation and/or Controls Technology) and 5+ years of related experience in the area of controls and/or electrical work and/or gas measurement work. Eligible for C.E.T. Certification or possess Certification as an Instrument Mechanic or Electrician is preferred.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and logic drawings.
Experience with various computer communications networks and protocols. Must have the ability to operate company computer equipment and related software applications.
Ability to work in a team environment, with minimal direction.
Solid understanding of PLC’s with DCS exposure.
Required to perform respirator fit testing and may be required to use a respirator in the course of duties.
This role will require overtime and out of town travel. A valid Ontario G class driver’s license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
Participation in the 24/7 rotational on-call and standby program is required, therefore individuals must maintain a permanent residence within a one-hour drive from the Bright Compressor Station.
May be required to enter confined space.
