PROGRAM MANAGER, BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PRODUCTS (REVENUE)

Reporting to the Managing Director, Business and Financial Products, the Program Manager, Business and Financial Products is responsible for overseeing the ongoing management of new projects and programs that are executed within The Globe and Mail’s business and financial products. This role will work cross functionally to execute programs – on time, on budget, at the required quality. The role will be responsible for managing new and existing ranking initiatives and other programs responsible for delivering new revenue to the business.  These ranking initiatives will deliver revenue that includes advertising, ticket sales, sponsorship as well as insight and relationships with top companies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work cross functionally with editorial, digital, events, sales and legal and other groups as needed, to deliver programs
  • Work closely with editorial to develop methodology, data collection process, FAQ’s, terms and conditions
  • Execute and or organize research, data, and nominations across multiple business recognition programs
  • Manage freelancers and/or contract employees to execute programs
  • Work with events to select appropriate speakers, execute awards event, marketing and promotion
  • Work closely with sales product team to ensure have the appropriate information to sell and support sales as program/subject matter expert of program
  • Ensure regular, ongoing effective communication among key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with editorial to ensure program is executed effectively to develop ranking as well as capturing the correct information to create compelling content
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to promote initiatives to drive submissions as well as promote rankings/programs to the market
  • Develop and manage program timelines and dates to effectively execute programs
  • Effectively communicate progress, developments, challenges and opportunities to key stakeholders
  • Work closely with Managing Director and Editor of ROB to develop new initiatives
  • Work with Managing Director and finance to appropriately capture costs and track revenue and costs against program budgets
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-10 years program or project management experience
  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Comfortable working with data in Excel
  • Strong organization and communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record in developing and launching new initiatives
  • Good understanding of the business and financial category
  • Proven experience collaborating, leading, and working closely with sales, editorial/content, digital, and marketing
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, with proven Influencing and networking skills
  • Experience managing freelancers/contractors
  • Experience within the B2B space or general business an asset
