Job Description

We’re searching for an individual with the ability to start with a vision and cultivate it to life, someone who is passionate about communications with a flair for selecting just the right words to engage and inspire their audience. Someone who can’t help but keep up with technology, social media and design trends.

In this position, you will work closely with a team to promote the library through various forms of communication and be involved in new and exciting projects to engage our customers and introduce our new library location to the community. Excited yet?

What you’ll do:

Promote library programs, services and resources in print and digital communications.

Support marketing and initiatives for new branch opening.

Evaluate and make recommendations to better target specified demographics.

Marketing and communications for key projects including fundraising initiatives and WPL’s strategic planning.

What we’re looking for:

Excellent technical skills including experience with social medial and graphic design.

Collaborative, team-player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, motivated and can work with minimal supervision.

Education in communications, marketing, advertising or UX design or equivalent

Familiarity with AODA and accessibility principles is an asset.

This contract position will run from August to December, 2021. Schedule is to be determined.

The starting wage $26.14 per hour. This position is grant funded therefore eligible candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee status in Canada, graduates from college/university and between the ages of 16-30.
