Title: Events Coordinator
Department: Marketing and Communications
Reports to: Manager, Events
Start date: Spring 2023
Employment status: Full-time, permanent
Salary: $46,000 – $50,000 annually commensurate with skills, education, and experience
Vacation: 2 weeks
Location: Remote
Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Events, this role will play an integral part in supporting the successful delivery of a variety of publicly available events and internal webinars.

Responsibilities:
Event support (10%)
• Moderating and / or managing live virtual and in-person events (COPEs, UnConference, webinars, roundtables, DreamMakers Summit, etc.)
• Managing event registration
Event communications (30%)
• Managing event communications such as client-facing inquiries and event-related information
• Acting as the first point of contact for all event inquiries
• Supporting the Event Manager with the coordination of different stakeholders
• Assistance with creating / editing / managing event registration forms
Content creation (40%)
• Assisting in the review of webinar decks, event handouts, and other materials
• Editing webinar recordings (including editing captioning), short videos, and / or other events recordings
• Supporting the Marketing & Communication department for podcast needs
Administrative support (20%)
• Covering absences for events such as filling in for moderating / managing technical logistics for day of events
• Updating and communicating registration reports with other departments as well as gathering feedback on events
• Answering and resolving any urgent inquiries from attendees, panelists, and other stakeholders
• Triaging inquiries from the Events Inbox and escalating to Manager as required
• Any other ad-hoc duties related to events
Skills and Qualifications
Required
» Post-secondary education in the fields of Event Planning, Marketing & Communications, or Hospitality Management
» 2+ years in supporting successful events or similar role
» Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
» Open to handling a variety of projects with levels of responsibility ranging from administrative support to project lead
» Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
» Ability to work with minimal supervision
» Exceptional customer service skills
» Excellent writing skills and communication skills
» Comfort using MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
» Experience in the not-for-profit/charitable industry
» Experience in the DEI space
» Bilingual (French / English) would be an asset
» Video creation or editing experience would be an asset
