We have an immediate opening for a Bilingual – Healthy and Safety Coordinator to join our Region Office team in Vaughan, ON (HWY 7/HWY 27). This role reports to the Health and Safety Managers. Previous health and safety administrative work experience in a transportation, oil/gas, or blue-collar company would be a huge plus! Your success in this role will come from a “can do” attitude, with an innate willingness to serve and support our front-line leaders and employees.

The schedule for this position will be Monday thru Friday working from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between the Safety Managers and other departments, colleagues, sites, vendors and clients;

  • Act as a liaison between our corporate office, Human Resources and STD, WCB/WSIB, CNEEST third party administrators (TPA’s), to support the claims administration process and to be a voice of our operations, while supporting the return to work process;

  • Act as the key administrator and liaison between the corporate office and our districts, responsible for updating and maintaining safety compliance websites;

  • Support and help drive Safety initiatives across the Region;

  • Assist the Safety team in planning and conducting local and out-of-town meetings and training;

  • Assist the Safety team in developing and delivering key communications;

  • Lead and coordinate various special Safety projects;

  • Create, maintain and distribute multiple spreadsheets and reports;

  • Provide general administrative and reception support for the team and Region office;

  • Serve as the information hub for the Region safety team through proactive communication, collaboration, and efficiency;

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Fluent, bilingual (French/English) ;

  • At least 3 years of experience in the capacity of Health and Safety compliant administration;

  • Proficient with MS Office, along with high attention to detail;

  • Must be self-driven and able to work independently;

  • Excellent communication, organizational and, time management skills;

  • The ability to work in a very fast-paced multi-tasking environment;

  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment;

  • Experience giving presentations or public speaking preferred;

  • Experience writing or reviewing policy and procedure manuals preferred;

  • Must have a minimum of a college diploma, but a University Degree is strongly preferred; EHS certification would be an asset;

  • Ability to travel when needed;

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
