About me
Shon Williams is a Community Research Assistant for the Jane Finch Community Research Partnership who currently works on developing the Jane Finch Research Advisory Board and JFCRP’s Community Sitdowns. Shon has assisted in establishing the Jane Finch Collections, an open-access database consisting of previous research in the Jane Finch community stored on an open repository known as Zenodo. Today, he’s one of the co-leads for developing the Jane Finch Research Advisory Board, which oversees and supports research protocols and reviews proposals by researchers and community members explicitly surrounding the Jane Finch community. Shon is also the host for the JFCRP Community Sitdowns structured around community conversations about the work of various community organizations, residents, ad artists that have made an incredible impact on Jane Finch. He’s finishing his final year at York University with a BA Honours Degree in Business and Society streaming in The Firm and Organization & Law and Governance. Outside of his workplace, he’s the proud host of The Safe Room Podcast and Court Advantage Podcast. The Safe Room focuses on open and in-depth conversations on political, social, and cultural issues. It provides a platform to showcase other creators, community members, and leaders while allowing guests to share their perspectives willingly.
